She began by selling cemetery lots in Cleveland. But there were no repeat performances so she swiftly moved from
interment to entertainment. By borrowing a little from her savings and a lot from her reserves of talent, will power and
determination, KAYE - dubbed ‘Cleveland's Edith Piaf" by the local press - formed her own trio and took the first bus out
of town.
The following years ushered in a harrowing apprenticeship to the entertainment world; then came the break, at the
Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas. Debbie Reynolds had taken ill - and KAYE stepped into her first superstar engagement! From
there KAYE strode triumphantly on to pack in fans at New York’s Waldorf Astoria, Plaza Hotels Persian Room, Caesar's
Palace in Las Vegas, as well as live performances on stage with FRANK SINATRA and ‘THE RAT PACK', and appearing
in the now famous 3 hour ‘FRANK SINATRA SPECTACULAR’ TV Show.
Her act was sensational then and is just as fresh and supercharged today. Each of her audiences, whether in concert
hall, nightclub or TV studio, is treated as a group of intimate friends - a rapport established by KAYE’S sheer downright
happiness. KAYE focuses the same powerful, frenetic energy on everything she embraces. She has starred in such
Broadway shows as MAME * UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN * WHERE'S CHARLIE? * DESTRY RIDES AGAIN * SWEET
THURSDAY * ANNIE GET YOUR GUN * LITTLE ME * APPLAUSE * NUNSENSE * AND * GYPSY *.
A TV game show regular, she's appeared on Hollywood Squares; Tattle Tales; Show Offs; To Tell the Truth; Celebrity
Sweepstakes; Match Game; $25,000 Pyramid; The Price is Right and Password. Talk show hosts enjoy her quick wit -
Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Joey Bishop, Dick Cavett, Virginia Graham and Sally Jesse Raphael. KAYE
has starred in countless TV variety shows, such as Ed Sullivan, Bob Hope Specials, The Carol Burnett Show, The Dean
Martin Show, The Kraft Music Hall, and specials with Jim Nabors, Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck and Andy Williams.
KAYE spent 9 years as "Jeri Clayton" on the daytime drama "Days of Our Lives": other stints include movies of the week
"Switch" with Barbara Eden, guest appearances on "Police Woman" with Angie Dickinson, * CHiP's * Superboy * and with
Burt Reynolds in "B.L. Stryker". KAYE has recently completed taping her own TV show `KAYE STEVENS: ALIVE AND
WELL". Feature films include Jaws Ill, KAYE has recorded numerous albums and is working on her latest CD. Behind the
singer/actress there is a serious woman with an urge to help others, who commits free time to rehab and juvenile
detention centers nationwide. KAYE is linked to the Boys' & Girl's Club of America, and works closely with "Growing
Together", a rehabilitation center for children and their families in Palm Beach, FL. Longtime friend Bob Hope lists KAYE
as one of the 'famous five' in his book "The Five Women I Love", and she’s in his book, "Don't Shoot It's Only Me".
Regularly featured soloist on "The Hour of Power TV Show" with Dr. Robert Schuller at The Crystal Cathedral in Garden
Grove, California. Critic John Scott of The Los Angeles Herald-Examiner may have glimpsed the real spirit of KAYE
STEVENS when he said, “SHE'S THE PRETTIEST FUNNY GIRL AND THE FUNNIEST PRETTY GIRL IN SHOW BUSINESS
TODAY!” Funny girl, pretty lady, actress/singer/dancer - there's never a dull moment when any of the many facets of
KAYE STEVENS shine on you, but one thing's sure - whichever one of the myriad MISS STEVENS you meet - you're
gonna love her!
